BROCCOLI BREATH

from £595.00

Original acrylic painting

Super-textured acrylic paint

16 × 20 inches

Created in 2026

Part of the Republic of Dogs series

Unframed (but can be framed for an additional charge)

Broccoli Breath is an original acrylic painting inspired by my dog’s famously awful breath, and my ongoing fascination with turning everyday canine realities into something celebratory, silly and oddly elegant.

Painted in 2026, the work features a bold blue background and an illustrative perfume bottle labelled BROCCOLI BREATH. The bottle is bright yellow with red stripes, topped with an old-fashioned perfume design: a broccoli bulb you squeeze, releasing fragrance through a dog-bone-shaped pump. It’s playful, graphic and intentionally absurd, leaning into humour as a way of expressing affection.

The piece is painted using heavily textured acrylic, with thick, tactile surfaces that catch the light and reward close looking. While the subject matter is light-hearted, the work is carefully composed and colour-driven, designed to feel joyful without being throwaway.

Broccoli Breath is part of my ongoing Republic of Dogs series, a body of work that builds a fictional world where dogs rule supreme and everyday objects become symbols of loyalty, love and mild chaos.

This is a one-off original, intended for dog lovers, colour lovers, and anyone who enjoys art that doesn’t take itself too seriously — but still wants something beautifully made to live with.

If you would like this framed by my bespoke framer, who does all my other artwork, I will require a £100 additional framing fee and four weeks to allow for said bespoke framing.
