Who we are

Hello 👋
I’m Wednesday’s Child — an artist based in the UK — and this is Fergus, my studio assistant, muse, and general morale booster.

I make bold, illustrative paintings full of humour, texture, and character. My work often plays with invented worlds, familiar phrases, and everyday symbols, using joy and playfulness as a way to explore emotional life. I’m especially interested in queer joy, care, and the quieter moments of reassurance that help us get through tricky things.

Alongside painting, I also work as a clinical psychologist in mental health settings, which means I think a lot about feelings, resilience, and how softness and humour can be powerful tools. That influence quietly weaves its way into the work — even when the subject matter is a dog on a postage stamp.

Fergus doesn’t paint (yet), but he takes his role very seriously. He oversees studio naps, appears in the odd artwork, and firmly believes the Republic of Dogs will take over the world.
